Invest in Fashionable Denim!

"Hello Inside the Fashion readers! Let me formally introduce myself before we embark on this guest blogging ride! My name is Alessia and I am a 19 year old journalism student in Montreal! When I'm not dreaming about fashion and fervently writing news articles, I am blogging for Luello.com! I think this is the beginning of a wonderful
friendship."

Givenchy dresses. Alexander Wang purses. YSL accessories.

There seem to be an endless amount of items that a typical, fashion-conscious girl finds herself coveting.

Nicholas Kirkwood stilettos. Hermes Birkin Bag. Alexander McQueen everything.

As far as (mostly) unattainable items on your ultimate wish-list are concerned, most fashionable women know exactly what they want. However, lots of women spend so much time formulating their imaginary styles (the ones they would have if they had limitless funds) that their real-world styles fall by the wayside.

Even though casual-wear can sometime seem less glamorous than the latest looks from Paris Haute Couture week, it’s nevertheless equally important to put as much thought and effort into your every-day wardrobe.

The ultimate item that straddles the line between luxury and informality? Denim, of course.

J Brand 901 Olympia

Quality denim never goes out of style. Like a family heirloom, your most beloved pair of jeans has a history. Your clothes become your companions through life. When people come and go they remain either firmly adorning your body or sitting in your closet, waiting for you to choose them again.

When you buy a Chanel quilted bag, you are buying both a style statement, and quality assurance. The same goes for a good pair of jeans. Invest in reputable, high quality brands like William Rast and J Brand to ensure that you won’t find yourself shopping for denim again in a month’s time.

Tempted by the appeal of discount prices, many people let the style and quality of their casual clothes sit on the back burner as they save all their pennies for the designer goods. However, we forget the reason why brands like William Rast and Rock Revival are on the higher end of price points for denim: because these are jeans that will serve you well for years. Don’t cut corners when it comes to your jeans. Your denim is worth it- just as much as your designer shoes are.

You can find these denim brands at www.luello.com along with many many others! Happy shopping! XO

TREND REPORT ** SPRING WRAP-UP

Leopard Bags

I love this trend. I'm not a huge fan of patten hence why all of bags are solid-colored. But I really want a leopard bag particularly like this one or a funky Betsey Johnshon one.

60S coats

I find this trend extremely romantic and classy. Think playful spring colors: pinks, yellows and light blues!

Military vests & jackets

Sure, you're too delicate for the army but a military vest is the next best FASHIONABLE thing.

Color blocking

You may or may not know but I'm not a huge fan of a lot of colors. Sure ,I have my Katy Perry days but 8/10 times-I'm in cool or pastel colors. But I'll give this look a try this summer :) I'll try anything once...

Platform heels

*swooooon*

Trench dresses

Love this! This is a statement piece. Don't overkill with leggings or jewelry!!!

Preppy Prep

Let's all pretend we're rich, beautiful and have lots of drama. Some of you may already be these things... Bring out the blazers, riding boots and pastel cardigans!

Big Bangles &

Lucite jewelry

Citrus colors

Instead of looking like an orange (*cough* Snooki) wear orange instead. What a fun way to bring the summer in...

Blue nail polish

LOVE,LOVE,LOVE. I'm rocking this color right now

DIOR SPRING 2011 COUTURE

I AM SPEECHLESS :O Beautiful...

Trend Report

For Spring 2011

Textured Tights

This was a huge trend last year and it's back again! I love this look it can transform a rather boring outfit& make it young, edgy and fun. I know some of my gals are frightful about adding attention to their thighs but I promise you textured tights actually lengthen and disguise flaws. You'll feel a lot sexier too;] Celebrities like Leighton Meester and Ke$ha loves textured tights.

Leather bracelets
This leather bracelet is from $99.95
This is a very hot accessory for Spring. It's different and unique jewelry is very trendy now.I love leather bracelets with a white T-shirt,Jeans,a blazer and flats. This adds a more polished and cool look to outfits.

Nars Lip Gloss [Harlow] $24
It's a tad pricey but it is definitely worth it. Try and get a nude/matte color especially for spring. Spring is about understated and light colors. This lip gloss is not sticky and it lasts forever! Great buy!

Lace-up Wedge Booties [Chloe]
This was the main show for the Spring 2011 runway shows. It's east to see why,it's very funky, super comfy and FASHION FORWARD.Wedge shoes are raved for their comfort. The platform on this particular style of shoes has great support and balance. Gotta get me a pair:-)!!!

Cool Scarves
[Echo Design]
The trick with scarves is to HAVE FUN WITH THEM. There are tons of different ways to wear them. It's best to just throw on a scarf and go rather than trying to place it so perfectly. Also this year it's all about cool patterns!
Check out this helpful video from the lovely,Michelle Phan:

Lace
Words cannot explain how much I love lace...yet I don't own a single piece of clothing with lace detail. Well, his was be a major hit on the runway and it's made its way to the real world. Very romantic and adds an instant air of elegance! Little = More in this case. Too much of a good thing= BAD.

[Akris-Spring 2011]
Bold Prints
Designers went crazy this year looking for fresh ideas to create wild and crazy prints. You only live once right?

Street Style is back!

New York

The baby pink blouse with a Utilitarian cargo pant gives a outfit a feminine yet tough look.

New York

The mix of textures and prints is a tricky thing. But the leopard cardigan compliments the tee and skirt instead of overwhelming it.

Melbourne

All black =classic not scary. The sheer and flats give it a more casual aesthetic.

Milan

How to wear a Camo jacket 101

Copenhagen

I love this....I don't know where to start. The two toned hair, the sunglasses, the Cindy Crawford mole. I'm in love:-)

Berlin

Shawls are a great to throw over and go in the fall and early winter time. As you can see,MEN can pull this off flawlessly.

London

Louboutins and a cape-Modern day Wonderwoman?

London

Acrylic sweaters are usually a no but this is an exception. Paired with leggings and peekaboo flats it creates a fun and comfy outfit.

Thigh High/Over the knee Boots: Yay or Nay

Louis Vuitton
This may just be one of the biggest fashion debates of all time. Some may shudder at the very thought and others cannot resist the leathery temptation. The only problem is the designers don’t actually care about the implied eroticism of the thigh-high boots. In fact, they are frequently related to eroticism, boot fetishism, prostitutes and professional dominatrices, so it’s a good idea to know how to wear them properly.Sexy is not even the word...how about slightly cheeky aka slutty. But when there's a will there's a WAY!

Emilio Pucci
Ways to wear these boots:
.Long jackets w/skinnies,leggings
.Sweater Dresses
.Off the shoulder sweaters
.Ponchos
.Cardigans
Also try more demure colors like black, gray, brown, green and tan.Word to the wise ladies 5'4" under shouldn't wear these styles as it will you swallow you and make you look like puss in boots ***Yay,Shrek reference.

Antonio Berardi

Chloe

Giuseppe-Zanotti

I gotta go with...YAY! Proceed with caution
