Trend Report

BLJ(Black Leather Jacket)
Every fall it happens, its inevitable. It's edgy, chic and looks effortless..if you get the right one. H&M(yes i said it) has a nice selection of them. Then again it depends on the store.

Loose fitting knit beret
Extremely popular yet really hard to find. For my fellow NY'ers: go to the city street vendors or soho and they're everywhere for really cheap.Everyone else get the googling/online shopping!

The Boyfriend Blazer
I love this,it looks good on everyone. It instantly adds the fashionable but not overdone touch to any outfit. I really need a blazer. I have a green one but it's not the same!

Leopard Print Ballet Flats
I love leopard print in SMALL QUANTITIES.This pair is by Steve by Steve Madden"Skold" Leopard Print Pointy flats;ranges from $40-110.
Aren't they fabulous? I had a pair of leopard print for a couple of years that i had to get rid of recently. They were getting real worn and wide at the sides,UGH. That's a sign of cheap ballet flats.I still have a gorgeous pair of black Steve Madden flats that I bought YEARS AGO. Buying Steve Madden shoes are an investment!!!

Boyfriend Jeans
Eh,I'm not a fan of this trend. It's frumpy and makes your ass look wide and flat:cringe:

Too cute!!!

I love headbands! I've been wearing them before Gossip Girl premiered and everyone was like "Why are you always wearing a headband" "OMG you have so many". These are the same people that started wearing them after Blair Waldorf made them her signature. Sigh. Anyway,my aunt gave me a bunch of adorable hair accessories. You must get these:

AH-DOR-ABLE^_^
Scuni Sweet sticks are non edible fake lollipop sticks to place in your bun/ponytail just for fun. They're like chopsticks. I had two sweet sticks in red and yellow. They retail for $3.99.

Scuni U-go! mini clips,$2.99

This is a gorgeous barrette from Bellissima. It's better than your plain ole scrunchie! Retails for $8.00

Leopard is huge this fall. Wearing leopard in SMALL AMOUNTS is also cute and trendy so why not try a headband?! I have an Amci head band it was about $10 bucks.

A pleated tie-dye headband from Echo Design,$21.
Gorgeous shade of silver...
Silver headband w/jewels;$21 from Echo Design

Lace Headband from Echo Design;$13.
I can really see this headband on my vintage loving girls and film noir fanatics.

****I'm doing something very special w/Echo Design next week. Sooo stay tuned****

Do you think it's really possible...?

To have a long and successful career in the fashion industry? I'm not talking about becoming a designer. That's in a bracket by itself. I'm talking about becoming a visual or fashion merchandiser, assistant to the editor, retail store manager or a writer for a major fashion company/magazine. Fashion is THE hardest industry to break into. You have to know people alot of people. It's a long ladder to climb to get to the top.
You know for the intern or entry level positions in the industry it's unpaid, they want college students so they can give the student college credits rather than pay.If you really sift through fashion jobs you'll find maybe a handful of paying entry level jobs. Guess what they don't pay much and there's a ton of men and women vying for them. They'll be alot of suffering and hard times with money especially for the first years.
After that five years more higher level jobs are available to you. Get yourself out there. Start a blog, network, Do alot of internships. Gain that experience, feed your passion and get that money;)

P.S-I've been thinking about what I want to do as a career. Because I really don't have a clue. I'm been looking into more "realistic" career choices. So a physician's assistant sounds really good to me,right now. But my feelings could change but I'm not completely shunning having a fashion career:)

I'm alive

What every girl needs in her closet for fall

I brushed upon the topic of "What's trendy" for fall but I wanted to create my own specific list. Here goes:

A short leather jacket preferably in black. This look has been making its way in and out of the fashion scene for the past two years. A short leather jacket can easily transform a look to make it edgy or edgier. It's good piece to wear with feminine dresses or above the knee skirts;you can mix the soft with the hard.I'm still looking for my perfect one:-)

A fashionable trench coat. Of course the word FASHIONABLE varies person to person but it's a fall staple and a must. To add a little color into your fall wardrobe, try wearing a bold red, cobalt blue or eggplant purple.

A good pair of boots. They're some many types to choose from. Self explanatory!

A purse/handbag that's versatile enough to wear all season round. I love handbags with- medium to long- length straps, especially when I'm looking for a new school bag. It's alot easier to carry my books. I love alot of pockets and compartments inside to keep everything organized. And a top zipper is so important especially if you travel on public transit. It's full of pick pocketers and weirdos. I live in Brooklyn,I know.

Side note: It's Lauren Conrad...she's so cute. I love her!)
A plaid shirt. I have three and I don't know how that happened. BUT they're all different colors, sizes and patterns. I really love my electric blue buffalo plaid one. It's similar to the one Ms.Conrad is wearing.

A sweater dress is one of the fashions that basically looks good on anyone. Of course it depends on the size of the dress and the cute. Sweater dresses aren't generally worn tight. They look great with skinny jeans, leggings&knee highs.I have at least four sweater dress from last year. I need new ones:)

Last but not least...

At least three great pairs of denim. Get a skinny jean, cigarette jean, and a boot cut or flared jean. It's good to have different pairs of jeans for a different look.I love jeans. I live in them. To see me in a skirt or dress is a rare, rare, rare honor.

How to get the Joan Jett-Lady rocker of the 80's look

There was this feature on www.style.com/vogue about achieving Joan Jett's look.Twilight Star Kristen Stewart is currently filming a movie "Runaways" playing the role of Joan Jett.I can't wait for that. Anyway, I wanted to do my own little take on 80's rocker cool.

Joan Jett circa 1982;this picture inspired my POLYVORE look.

Of course having a jet black shag haircut will enhance the look;) Haha
In my polyvore set:
The vest is from 3.1 Phillip Lim Triangle Cut Out Vest $395
The tank is from Forever 21 $14
The leather boots are from Alexander McQueen $974
The black skinny jeans are from c.r.a.f.t $325
Metrocuff bracelet $16
O.P.I Nail Lacquer $12
Givenchy Lipstick $20

I didn't realize some of these things were so pricey, they're cute though! It was my first time using Polyvore, forgive
Do you like my look? What would you add or remove?
\m/rock on!
