Denim vests

What was ultra trendy in 2009? [part 1]
This is just my personal list of major trends I've noticed(and you probaby noticed) too popping up everywhere.
We started 2009 off with:
-Over the knee/Thigh High Boots
[Fabiana OTK boots]
Hit or miss? It's a tie. Personally I would never wear them.I shudder at the thought..but this one of those trends that look good with a Balmain(inspired)dress and a model.
-Leather
Say it like Stella from Project Runway-LEAAHHTHA! Hahaha.
Hit or miss? Hit. Leather is one of those timeless trends.
I don't own anything leather but I've wanted a leather bomber jacket for about 3 years now. Sigh.
-The Feminine Touch
Hit or Miss? Hit x 12,000. That doesn't matter menswear inspired looks are out. They're just more feminine and fitted to a woman's body and girlish appliques are added.
Just about every designer showcased a look featuring one of these things:ruffles, brooches, bows and tailored waistcoats.
-Chunky knits
Hit or Miss? Hit,OK! It gets really cold. Chunky knits did not make you look chunky. It all depends how you where it. If you want to wear a chunky knit sweater dress, add a belt to cinch in the waist and give you an automatic hourglass shape.
-Ripped Thights and Stockings
Hit or Miss?Miss
Neo grunge was definitely in effect in 2009. Blame it on Jenny Humprey.I get the whole I'm- a- rockstar- and- I-don't- care- about- my- image look but this just looks...messy,unkempt and trying way too hard all in one.
-Military Fashions
Hit or Miss? HIT!
Michael Jackson's passing definitely lit the torch that was under this fashion. I have a military inspired pea coat that I've shown you guys(a couple of posts back) that I love. Not all of us are ballsy enough to go all out the full military/marching band jacket with the chains and embroidery but it's an innovative trend. Refreshing!

Trend Report
Hiii,I feel a zombie. I have finals until 12/17 and that basically means no sleep or socialization. I need A's and OK a B+ or two. So the next post will be IN A WEEK.
Ombre Hair
Ombre hair was an apparent theme at the Proenza Schouler RTW 2010 collection. I'm not so sure about this...maybe in the more subtle way Alexa Chung does it? What do you think?
Floor Length Jumpsuits
[Maggie Gyllenhaal]
The 70's has crept up upon us. Beware. It's not the easiest trend to pull off-it works best on the model types. You know tall and boyish shaped.
Bandage Skirts
Hot.Hot.Hot. Of course the celeb favorite-Herve Leger started the super sexy trend of using bandage skirts, dresses and tops to accentuate a woman's curves. LOVE.
Smokey eye makeup
This look has been hit since...ever but this fall it seems to have hit an all time high. Plus it looks good on everyone when done right. For the perfect look check out Michelle Phan on youtube:-)
Berets
Forever a winter trend.
List to be continued...I'll have more trends in a week.
Leave comments-I'll get back to you. I'm not ignoring you lovies<3

All I want for Christmas is...
Penn Badgley(Actor/Currently on the hit TV series Gossip Girl).swoon. But really I'll be good with him,a puppy and a Soho apartment. A girl can dream.
But anyway is it just me or is the warm fuzzy feeling about Christmas is gone. I think it's just become a hallmark holiday about some dude named Santa and presents. I think people forget the religious aspect of Christmas and the spirit of giving and the birth of Jesus Christ.
SMH!!
This is the first year I didn't make an actual psychical list and put it on my door. Getting old I guess...
I would love to have:
An Ipod Touch. I lost mine over the summer...depressing.
.
The TeenVogue Handbook
The reviews have been astounding. It looks like a fascinating read. I want,I want!
.
The Satorialist Book-Scott Schuman is a genius
.
Light gray boots
The ones in the pic aren't my ideal ones.I want one with a 2" inch heel and buckles.I'm on the hunt!
.Lots and Lots of Gift cards! To places like Urban Outfitters,Zara,H&M,Forever 21 etc.The last time I went shopping was 3 months ago. I've fallen way off on my fashionable meter.
.The Entire Balmain Spring 2010 RTW collection
.By some miracle these SUPER FIERCE Alexander Wang boots
.Acoustic Guitar
.A memory card& cute case for my phone
Pretty basic list...What do you want for Christmas? Leave a comment, guys:)
